The present transport system has minimized distances, but it has on the other hand increased life risk. Every year road crashes result in loss of lakhs of lives and serious injuries to crores of people. In India about eighty thousand people are killed in road crashes every year which is thirteen percent of the total fatality all over the world. In most of the cases crashes occur either due to carelessness or because of lack of road safety awareness. Hence, road safety education is as essential as any other basic skills of survival. Shamanna Soma Shekar intends to educate people about road safety, also help people whenever possible by giving them helmets, safety gear and encourages other people to do the same. He believes that many of these injuries and deaths can be avoided if the law strictly enforces safety practices like no drinking and driving, no use of a phone while driving, wearing of seatbelts must be mandatory and is happy to help prevent accidents.
